FAQ

Frequently asked questions about life coaching

Q: What is life coaching?

A: Life coaching is a collaborative process between a coach and a client that aims to help the client identify and achieve their personal and professional goals.

Q: What can I expect from a life coaching session?

A: During a life coaching session, you can expect to have a conversation with your coach about your goals, challenges, and aspirations. Your coach will help you identify any obstacles that may be holding you back and provide you with strategies and support to help you overcome them. Each week you will cover a different topic and tools.

Q: How many sessions do I need?

A: Typically, clients work with a coach for a minimum of three months to see significant progress. That’s why Janelle’s 1-on-1 life coaching program, SHE THRIVES, is 13 sessions/weeks.

Q: How do I know if coaching is right for me?

A: Coaching is a great fit for anyone who is looking to make positive changes in their life and is willing to commit to the process. If you are feeling stuck, unmotivated, or unsure about your direction, coaching can help you gain clarity and focus.

Q: Is coaching confidential?

A: Yes, coaching is confidential. Coaches are bound by a code of ethics that requires them to keep all client information confidential.

Q: What happens when I sign up for coaching?

A: When you sign up for the program by booking your first session Janelle will get in touch with you directly using the email address you provided to arrange where/how you’ll meet and what to expect, and you have the opportunity to ask any questions. Then you’ll meet at the time and date arranged to get started!

Q: How do I pay?

A: You can pay for the entire program at once via bank transfer, or pay per session, whichever works best for you. Janelle will send you the payment details by email.

Q: Do you offer payment plans?

A: Yes, you can pay for the program in smaller installments. Simply discuss your options with your life coach.

Q: What happens if I can't make a session?

A: If you are unable to make a session you must let Janelle know at least 24 hours in advance to reschedule your session. If 24 hours' notice isn't possible, you will only be able to reschedule if there is availability.

Q: What if I start the coaching program and want to cancel?

A: You can cancel your coaching at any time by emailing your life coach. This will cancel all future sessions and you will not be charged for them.

Q: Can coaching be done remotely?

A: Yes, coaching can be done remotely via video conferencing tool, Google Meet. This is the default coaching method and offers the convenience for clients to attend sessions from the comfort and privacy of their own home. All they need is a device (laptop or phone) and a stable internet connection.

Q: How much does life coaching cost?

A: My 13-week life coaching package for teens and young women is $1,249 for 13x 1-hour sessions. That works out to be about $96 per session. The program can be paid for in full, or sessions can be paid for in weekly, fortnightly or monthly instalments depending on your preference.

Q: What kind of results can I expect from coaching?

A: The results of coaching vary from person to person and depend on your individual goals and commitment to the process. However, many clients report feeling more motivated, confident, and successful in both their personal and professional lives after working with a coach.

Q: What's the difference between coaching and therapy?

A: Counseling and therapy is about the past, while life coaching is all about the future. Therapy is for addressing trauma and diagnosable mental health concerns, while life coaching is for taking action and developing tools for the future.

Coaching should not be a replacement for therapy or counselling. However, they can work extremely well alongside one another. If your teen is getting counselling or therapy, it’s important to discuss whether life coaching would be suitable with the therapist before starting life coaching.

Coaching is well suited for people who are mentally well, but want to improve in every aspect of their lives and reach their full potential.

Q: I want to do coaching, how do I get started?

A: Getting started is easy, simply contact Janelle using the form below, or book for free 1-hour consult with her here
